Chicago Surface Lines
Peter
Witt "Sedan" car 3381, seen at the Madison-Austin loop, was one of the
25 cars used on route 20 (Madison Street) to share runs with the PCC's
during World War II. These cars were used only during daytime hours
and operated from the Kedzie car barn. They were used on both the
Madison Street main line and its 5th Avenue branch during and after the
war. However, they were
all in the barn by 8:00 P.M. each day, leaving Madison Street to the PCC's.
